Inaugurated on Sept. 3, 1992, Mei Shung mainly serves Taiwanese cuisine. Mr. Kuo, a Taiwanese-born American, inaugurated Mei Shung before the current owner took over the restaurant. The restaurant has kept sustaining its tradition by serving Taiwanese dishes. Having persisted in sustaining the old, traditional flavors, traditional Taiwanese snacks have been added in the menu with each dish to be manifested as a reminiscence of the elders and a deep affection to hometown. For years, Mei Shung has made its guests feel at home and has been popular by Taiwanese students studying in Chicago and mainstream customers by using fresh ingredients and offering cordial customer services.
「美而香」本店於1992年9月3日開張，菜式以臺灣料理為主，先前由臺灣僑民郭先生創辦，新店家接手後，延續經營臺灣料理為特色，以及對臺灣古早味的堅持，增加許多臺灣傳統小吃，每一道菜都夾雜著對長輩的思念、及對臺灣這塊土地的深切鄉情，多年來，一直以新鮮的食材與貼心的服務，讓顧客享有賓至如歸的感受，深受臺灣留學生及主流客戶喜愛。
